THE World Rubber Summit 2013, dubbed as one of the biggest gatherings of business and political leaders for the rubber industry will be held at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore on May 21-23, 2013.
Held under the umbrella of “Rubber Week”, the World Rubber Summit will be combined with the IRSG’s inter-government and industry meetings plus a Gala Dinner.
Themed “The Road Ahead, Bleak or Bright?” the Summit will examine how world leaders and global CEOs are adjusting to the rapidly changing world economy and new paradigm occurring globally that may impact the rubber industry.
Dr Stephen V. Evans, Secretary-General of the International Rubber Study Group, says, “The World Rubber Summit is a unique and exclusive summit for the top minds of the global rubber community to discuss major trends and debate fundamental issues shaping the future of the global rubber industry and is a must attend for senior management in the rubber industry”.
During the conference, presentations and panel sessions will feature discussions on how best to strategise and harness opportunities in the relevant sectors (such as automobiles and tyes), given a volatile macro-economic environment. Smallholder productivity, natural and synthetic rubber innovations, sustainability, supply chain, China and India growth engines plus impact of the financial industry will also be tackled.
More than 20 prominent CEOs and business leaders have been invited to speak at the conference, including General Motors, Komatsu, Apollo, Bridgestone, Lanxess, World Bank and Government representatives.
