Tyre retreader Vipal Rubber Corp. (Vipal) has begun operations at its modern, US$20 million manufacturing facility in Santa Fe, Argentina, Vipal’s first manufacturing unit outside Brazil. Equipped with the latest technology and ample storage capacity, the Santa Fe unit will produce precured treads for tyre retreads as supply to both the Argentinian and export markets.
Built over an area of 7.6 thousand sqm., the unit has an installed capacity of one thousand tonnes of rubber mixture per month, with at least 600 tonnes/month destined for the production of precured treads. It has a total space of 15 thousand sqm. including a distribution centre with one thousand tonnes of storage capacity.
According to Leandro Rigon, International Business Director, Vipal Rubber, the main objective of the company with this investment is to meet market demands in the region. ”The main objective of the factory in Argentina is to improve our capacity to serve the local market, with more efficient logistics, in addition to using the new platform for exports to neighbouring markets with greater synergy.
