Tyrexpo India 2015 Provides Access and Insights into the Growing Tyre Market in India

Tyrexpo-India-2015

India’s tyre industry will see a significant boost in domestic demand for tyres in the next five years, according to Tech Sci Research on India Tyre Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2019. The tremendous growth momentum is largely fuelled by the growing road infrastructure coupled with increasing vehicle parc and radialisation and rising per capita income. With tyre production in India anticipated to reach 191 million units by the end of 2016, the industry is also witnessing strong capacity momentum across all segments with the tyre makers preparing themselves to cash in on the expected growth in the auto industry.

Now in its 3rd edition, the Tyrexpo India exhibition, held at the Chennai Trade Centre from 7 to 9 July acts as a bridge between buyers and sellers of tyres, garage and workshop equipment, and tyre accessories looking to do business in India. With the city of Chennai positioned at the heart of the country’s automobile industry, Tyrexpo India is strategically placed to tap into the growing market potential in India.

The three-day exhibition opened with a Lamp Lighting Inauguration Ceremony officiated by key officials which includes Mr Nirmal Singhvi, President of Tamil Nadu Tyre Dealers’ Association; Mr Sudarsan Varadaraj, Chairman and Managing Director of Elgi Rubber; Mr Ashok P. Chhajer, Senior Deputy General Manager of Balkrishna Tyres Ltd; Mr Adrian Sng, Director of SingEx-ECI and Mr Chandran Nair, General Manager of SingEx Holdings.

Mr Nirmal Singhvi says, “It has been a pleasure to become involved in a very organised show for the Indian tyre industry in its best possible location. I believe India is on the threshold of moving forward in the next couple of years as an international tyre market to eventually compete with China in terms of products and services.”
Mr Sudarsan Varadaraj believes the show represents the continued growth of the tyre market in India whilst Mr Ashok P Chhajer says, “It is an honour to help stage such an important event for the Indian tyre industry calendar and the show is perfect for allowing visitors to learn who produces what all under one roof.”

Exhibitors shared the same positive outlook on India’s tyre industry with many looking to use Tyrexpo India to capitalise on the vast business opportunities available.

A spokesperson for Shih Fa Rubber Industries who made their debut exhibiting at Tyrexpo India, explained to SingEx-ECI that with India being a large country with a big population, participating in the exhibition provides them with not only a perfect opportunity to look closely at the huge market potential that India offers but also to embark on making the market aware of what the company has to offer in terms of quality products.

Dubai based Sun Global also made their very first appearance at Tyrexpo India 2015 with the distinct objective of launching their Nison brand range of PCR and TBR tyres into the Indian market. Nitesh Shewakramani, Executive Director explained, “With India being a current target market for us, the show carries immense importance for Sun Global as we have an opportunity to showcase our products and services in this huge tyre market and meet and discuss what Sun Global can offer to various important people from the industry. During the show duration, we hope to be able to meet several potential distributors for our tyres in India and also learn as much as we can about the Indian tyre market.”
