As the market demand for non-mineral oil-based products continues to increase, Swedish chemical/oil maker Nynas is launching Nytex Bio 6200, the company’s first tyre and rubber process oil to be produced using renewable feedstock.
‘’The tyre industry has an ambition to become more sustainable, and the introduction of solutions such as Nytex BIO 6200 demonstrates our commitment to supporting this, while providing our customers with the superior quality they have come to expect from Nynas as a leading global supplier,’’ says Dr Kamyar Alavi, Senior Technical Advisor.
It is not only the first oil produced by Nynas to incorporate renewable feedstock but it is also said to reduce the rolling resistance of the tyre, an area where Nynas oils continue to deliver very strong results, says the firm.
‘’During the testing and development stages we saw that Nytex Bio 6200 not only matched the strict requirements placed on all Nynas tyre tread formulations, but in some areas even surpassed them,’’ notes Alavi.
NYTEX BIO 6200 is now available for sampling and order. An official product launch will take place during the Tire Technology Expo Conference in Hannover, on March 5-7, where Dr Kamyar Alavi will give a presentation entitled Sustainability and Performance: Non-Mineral Oil-based Tyre and Rubber Plasticisers.
