The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA) recently published sales generated by its members in the first half of 2014.
The figures indicated an uptrend in truck and bus tyres sales in Europe during the first quarter of the year, exhibiting 10% growth compared to the first six months of the previous year, says the Association.
According to ETRMA, the European market indicates positive direction from the first quarter of 2014, as confirmed by data from April to June, which shows an overall stabilisation on a positive trend of the market in all segments. Agricultural tyres also showed a 4% growth and motorcycle and scooter tyres grew by 8%.
When looking at the national results, all major markets registered positive figures for truck and bus tyres, with Germany leading the growth with a staggering +15%. For consumer tyres, the results were more mixed with the majority of the biggest markets bringing positive results with the exception of the UK (-1%) and Spain (-1%).
