Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. names its new president and chairman last September 28.
Senior Corporate Officer Takashi Shimizu will replace Takuji Yamamoto as president. Shimizu held other management positions in the company’s tire division. He is currently the company’s Senior Corporate Officer.
Following his appointment as President at the Shareholders’ Meeting, Mr. Takashi Shimizu is scheduled to also become General Manager of the Seismic Isolation Rubber Division
After Shimizu becomes president, Yamamoto will take on a special advisory role.
Katsumi Komaguchi will replace Chairman Akira Nobuki, who already resigned. Komaguchi previously served as vice chairman of Kyocera Document Solutions, an office equipment subsidiary of electronics company Kyocera.
Komaguchi will join the Company mid-October as Advisor, and following approval at the Shareholders’ Meeting, is scheduled to become Chairman of the Board. He had until September 19, 2015, served as Representative Director and Deputy Chairman for Kyocera Document Solutions Inc.
Both Shimizu and Komaguchi’s nominations will be up for a vote during November’s emergency shareholders meeting. After the meeting, the board of directors will officially appoint them to their positions.
