TOYO Tire & Rubber Company has recently opened its new tyre factory in Malaysia. The new facility will also utilise Toyo Tires’s proprietary tyre production system, A.T.O.M., and is expected to produce about 2.5 million tyres annually by end of this year. By 2015, it will increase its annual supply capacity to 5 million units.
With the Malaysia plant, the firm will supply other countries with high-performance, fuel-efficient tyres. It has currently established markets in North America, Asia and the Middle East particularly the Gulf Region.
The said plant will provide the Saudi market with Toyo tyre brand, the “TEO Plus”, which is available in different sizes and features smooth and comfortable driving for passenger vehicles and sports cars, and Plus control on wet roads.
Abdullatif Al-Amoudi, CEO of Al- Amoudi Holding Company and the long-time exclusive distributor of Toyo Tires in the Kingdom, says that the new plant in Malaysia was one of the major steps taken by Toyo recently to meet the increased demand for Toyo tyres particularly in the Gulf region, as the plant in Japan was not able to meet all the demands of the global market.
He furthers that the new plant is able to receive larger quantities, and the tyres to be produced therein will be competitive.
