THAILAND’s Deputy Agriculture Minister Yutthapong Charassathien announced during the ASEAN Rubber Day staged 10 -12 April in Phuker, Thailand and Malaysia will jointly set up rubber industry zones along common border, and create more jobs for their peoples.
Under the proposal, the Malatsia will encourage its private sector to construct a rubber industrial estate on a 6,500-rai area, and will encompass infrastructures, including roads, electricity and an energy source.
Meanwhile, Thailand will develop a 10,000-rai area for building a similar industrial estate for an estimated 200 billion baht.
Several companies, mostly car tyre manufacturers, have already expressef interest to invent in the project that is expected to start construction this year.
