UK polymers supplier Synthomer has inaugurated its new 36,000 tonnes expansion to its acrylic dispersions production facility in Worms, Germany. The investment increases the site’s capacity in excess of 30% and its fully automated production facility significantly enhances the site’s capability to produce made to order speciality acrylics.
The company says the expansion will continue to strengthen its growth in paints & coatings, construction chemicals, technical textiles as well as adhesives and sealants.

The investment adds a world class facility for innovative acrylic dispersions in the heart of our extensive European dispersion network, which allows us to better serve our customers.”
The project was first announced in 2017, with completion scheduled by third quarter of 2018.
Synthomer
operates dispersion plants in the UK, Germany, Czech Republic, France,
Italy and Spain, with Worms facility being its largest acrylic site in
Europe.
Synthomer also has a subsidiary in Malaysia that develops, manufactures, and markets polymers. The company offers synthetic binders, paints, coatings, carpet, compounds, foam, adhesives, and synthetic resins.
