THE World Rubber Summit (WRS) 2014, promised to be the biggest gathering of business and policy makers for the rubber industry will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore on May 19-21,
The summit will carry the theme, “Sustainability: Our investment for a thriving rubber industry”, and will address the core issues facing the rubber industry.
Presentations and panel sessions at the conferemnce will feature discussions on topics such as sustainable rubber industry from myriad perspectives, opportunities arising along the rubber value chain, the outlook and recovery of rubber demand in Europe and North America and emerging markets of China and India and Southeast Asia plus impact of the financial industry.
According to its organiser, the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), more than 20 prominent business leaders and experts have been invited to speak at the conference, including Richard Kramer, Chairman, President and CEO of Goodyear, Michael Coleman, Managing Director of Aisling and for example Continental, Bekaert, HSBC, World Bank and Government representatives.
Moreover, the conference will feature an exhibition which will be participated by key decision makers from the natural rubber supply chain, IRSG said.
WRS is held under the umbrella of “World Rubber Week”, and will be combined with the IRSG’s inter-government and industry meetings.
