P.T. Sumi Rubber Indonesia, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (SRI), celebrated its 20th anniversary October 2. SRI is engaged in the manufacture and sale of tyres and golf clubs in Indonesia.
Held on Sumi Rubber Indonesia’s factory grounds, the ceremony drew an audience of around 100 guests, including executives from our local joint venture partners, shareholders, tyre dealers, customers, factory staff and SRI’s President Ikeda.
In his speech, SRI’s President Ikeda said that he is, “Looking toward the next 30 or 40 years. I would like for us to do our utmost to make Sumi Rubber Indonesia into a company that is widely admired and considered essential throughout all of Indonesia while contributing not only to the future growth and development of the Sumitomo Rubber Group, but also to the further development of industry in the great nation of Indonesia.”
Sumi Rubber Indonesia began producing tyres in April of 1997 and golf balls in April of 1998. Since Sumi Rubber Indonesia began operating in the late 1990s, they have been actively engaged in production and sales activities to respond to burgeoning demand in Asian markets.
