Russian petrochemical firm, Sibur plans to boost its production capacity for polybutadiene rubber (Nd-BR) at its facility in Voronezh City.
Another 13 ktpa will be added by the firm to reach a 48 ktpa plant capacity to provide the increasing demand of Europe and CIS for Nd-BR. This upgrade will increase operational efficiency while ensuring the quality of the product.
The upgrade will be led by the Russian design, supply, logistics and construction company NIPIgaspererabotka as general designer while construction and commissioning works will be offered by other Russian contractors. It is expected to be finished in 2021
In 2018, Sibur’s Voronezh facility for Nd-BR was bagged a prize at the XXI Voronezh quality contest, the regional stage of the 100 Best Goods of Russia, in the Industrial and Technical Goods category.
Nd-BR does not contain harmful oligomers and is considered environmental friendly and energy-efficient. It guarantees a high quality rubber products suited for the production of eco-friendly tyres.
