SGS, that provides testing, inspection and certification. has announced the expansion of its Renault-recognised rubber material testing capabilities to its Guangzhou laboratory, which it adds is the only rubber materials laboratory in China offering testing activities aligned with Renault requirements.
For more than 30 years, SGS says its rubber materials laboratory in France has worked in close partnership with Renault. Building on this long?standing foundation, it has now extended Renault?aligned rubber testing capabilities to China, with the French laboratory serving as the technical reference point. The Guangzhou team applies the same validated methodologies, equipment standards and quality controls, ensuring full alignment with Renault’s global requirements, it adds.
This capability has been validated through a recent technical audit, which confirmed a high level of consistency between test results and those generated by Renault’s own laboratory. The audit outcome demonstrates compliance with Renault’s unified global standards for accuracy, reliability and technical credibility, it says.
The Guangzhou laboratory provides a comprehensive portfolio of rubber material testing services, complementing existing accreditations for plastics, metals, coatings and other automotive materials. Together, these capabilities deliver end-to-end technical support, from raw material screening and formulation optimisation to performance validation and environmental compliance, across R&D, validation and mass-production phases.
It also says its Chinese team has accumulated extensive collaboration experience with leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, enabling practical, locally responsive solutions that remain fully aligned with global standards.
By enabling local access to Renault-aligned rubber testing in China, SGS says it supports shorter development and testing cycles and improved consistency across the automotive supply chain.
