Southern Regional Officials of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) have confiscated rubber mats with fake ISI marks from an electrical rubber mat unit located near Broadway.
According to the officials, a raid was conducted at Dee Pee Industrial Enterprise after it has been found misusing the seals to their rubber mats.
The electrical rubber mats are commonly utilised in power generation plants as flooring to protect electrical shock.
BIS officials said the criminal offence can carry a maximum penalty of one year imprisonment plus fine They are also urging the public to report incidences of misuse of the ISI seals. (RJA)
