Rubber Division, ACS opens Elastomer Training Center

acRubber Division, American Chemical Society, unveiled their new Elastomer Training Center. The Elastomer Training Center will serve as a centralized location where many of the organization’s courses for students, industry professionals and educators will be held.

The center was created to augment the Division’s current extensive education program of online and on-site courses by adding new topics, materials and instructors, all within the organization’s headquarters building.

The Elastomer Training Center is located in Suite 208 of the same building as the Division’s headquarter office. With the facility conveniently located on the University of Akron campus, it provides a possible space for local rubber companies to host their organization meetings and in-house training.

One of the additional goals of the center is to develop a training program for high school science teachers to receive professional development hours and learn about elastomer/rubber and related technology. This will be one of their initial steps in bringing our industry directly to the classroom and educating high school students about rubber and other elastomers and opportunities in our great industry. This will help fill the need to attract the new generation as future professionals in the rubber industry.
