Nokian Tyres launches “smart” tyre technology with load-sensing

Nokian Tyres has launched Intuitu 2.0, said to be the next-generation of smart tyre technology featuring smart pressure assistant with load-sensing. It adds that for the first time in agriculture, farmers can get tyre pressure recommendations on the go, based on the tractor’s actual operating weight and use conditions, using just a tyre sensor and a smartphone.

Available exclusively with Nokian Tyres Soil King VF tyres, this innovation helps maximise productivity, protect soil health, and extend tyre life.

The new Intuitu 2.0 for Soil King VF tires introduces load-sensing technology to provide precise tyre pressure recommendations based on the tractor’s actual operating weight and usage conditions. With sensors installed in the inner liner of the tyres, the system measures the load being carried. In the Intuitu mobile app, the user selects the working conditions, and within moments the recommended pressures for road and field use are displayed.

There is no need for specialised knowledge to calculate the tractor’s operating weight with implements and ballasting — all necessary data is available in one place, ensuring informed decisions.

Tyre pressure plays a crucial role in agricultural performance, yet it is often overlooked. With Intuitu 2.0, the tyre maker says farmers can now fully unlock the benefits of premium Soil King VF tyres by ensuring the correct pressure in every situation. This means improved power transfer, lower fuel consumption, minimised soil compaction, and extended tyre life — helping farmers improve efficiency, boost productivity, and protect soil health for better crop yields over time.

Intuitu 2.0 will be available across all sizes of the Nokian Tyres Soil King VF tyre range.

The development of Intuitu 2.0 has been partially funded by Business Finland, a state-owned Finnish organisation that supports innovation, and has been validated in collaboration with major global tractor manufacturers, ensuring its practical relevance and reliability in agricultural use.
