Momentive Performance Materials Inc., a global leader in silicones and advanced materials, will introduce a new silicone-based gel product for the cosmetic industry at the in-cosmetics Global show in London from April 4 to 6.
The innovative silicone-based, cross polymer network emulsionVelvesil E-Gel PMFis a multi-function, patent-pending formulation that can enable skin imperfection masking along with a luxurious application feel and long-lasting, moisturising effects in one product.
“Multi-functional ingredients, such as Velvesil gels, are increasingly sought after by cosmetics manufacturers for their ability to enhance sensory and performance benefits while reducing the complexity and costs associated with producing products in the color cosmetics, skin and hair care industries,” said Beatriz Blanco, senior business director at Momentive.

Personal care formulators can consider Velvesil E-Gel PMF emulsion for use when creating products such as toners, serums, sunscreens and foundations, as well as leave-in and rinse-off hair products.
The new silicone-based gel will be the topic of a Momentive Seminar: “Achieving More with Less – How to Create Novel Textures in Frugal Innovations,” to be presented on April 4. The company’s SilForm fluids and Silsoft emulsions and conditioning agents will also be featured.
