Michelin Agricultural released six new tyres designed to fit tractors, sprayers, harvesting equipment and other farm trucks.
All new tyre models feature Michelin’s Ultraflex Technology, which allows tires to operate at up to 40% less air pressure than standard radial tyres. Lower air pressure gives the tyres a larger footprint for reduced soil compaction and higher yield. The six new tyres in the Ultraflex line are:
• Michelin VF480/80R50 179D Spraybib (available starting this month)
• Michelin 710/45R22.5 165D CargoXBib High Flotation (available in December 2015)
• Michelin IF900/65R46 190D AxioBib (available in March 2016)
• Michelin IF1000/55R32 CFO 188A8 CerexBib (available in June 2016)
• Michelin VF710/60R42 161D XeoBib (already available)
• Michelin VF480/80R50 166A8/166B YieldBib (already available)
The company also announced the Ultraflex Promise Plan: a one-year guarantee on all tyres on their Ultraflex line. Farmers can try Ultraflex replacement tyres free for one year. They can then it for a refund if they’re not satisfied.
Michelin also launched a free mobile app to get tyre pressure for farm vehicles. The Michelin Pressure Calculator measures the tyre pressure needed to carry the load. The app is free on iOS and Android.
