FGV Rubber Industries Sdn Bhd, a major manufacturer of industrial rubber products and the producer of epoxidised natural rubber (ENR) Ekoprena in Malaysia, and Behn Meyer Europe GmbH, a major distributor of chemicals and resins to the rubber industry, have tied up to co-market their products and services by promoting and marketing each company’s products to their respective customer bases and prospects. FGV Rubber is a part of FGV Holdings Berhad, which is a Malaysian global agricultural and agri-commodities company.
Behn Meyer says that its surface-modified silica products are able to interact with ENR in a way to optimise wear, rolling resistance and skid properties of silica tread compounds.
Thus, the global tyre industry is provided with renewable alternatives to current oil-based rubber systems or the enhancement of tyres on the development of low wear, low rolling resistance, high wet and dry skid tread compound.
The companies says the cooperation will enable joint demonstrations and joint customer visits, presentations and proposals. The customer of either FGV or BME will have an option to purchase either the ENR or the surface – modified silica from BM directly or via FGV.
