Linglong breaks ground on latest tyre facility in China

China’s Linglong Tyre has officially broken ground on its new tyre manufacturing facility in the Hi-Tech Industrial Park in Lu’an, Anhui Province.

The Lu’an project represents a substantial investment of RMB5.1 billion, aimed at bolstering Linglong’s production capacity. The facility is designed to produce 14 million high-performance radial tyres/year. Of these, 12 million will cater to passenger cars and light trucks, while the remaining 2 million will be for trucks and buses.

Additionally, the site will include a waste tyre recycling unit capable of processing 30 kilotonnes/year of end-of-life tyres. This initiative is in line with increasing industry demands for sustainable practices and tyre recycling solutions.

The phased approach is intended to streamline the construction process, ensuring that the project remains on track for its expected completion by March 2029, the company adds.
