LIBERIAN President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf resounded a challenge to rubber processing companies operating in the country: Shift their focus by considering investing in manufacturing finished products.
Sirleaf contended that the country’s export of natural processed rubber may have to be value added with manufacturing finished rubber products. Moreover, the move will also help create more jobs especially for the youths in their concession area.
Products like poly-tanks, slippers and cooking implements have a sure market in Liberia, including other parts of the sub-region, Sirleaf adviced.
She made the suggestion during a meet with stakeholders in the agricultural sector , including the rubber and oil palm industry players.
