JK Tyre inaugurates expansion of Indian plant for passenger tyres

Indian tyre industry major and a market leader in the radial tyre segment, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, says it has inaugurated the Phase III of capacity expansion and modernisation at its Passenger Car Radial (PCR) manufacturing facility at Banmore, Madhya Pradesh.

The new modern manufacturing facility was inaugurated by Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director/CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India’s leading automotive manufacturer in the presence of Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director and Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director, JK Tyre along with other leadership team of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL).

With the commissioning of Phase III, as part of JK Tyre’s multi-phase investment strategy of over 1,000 crore rupees at the Banmore facility, the plant’s production capacity has increased to 30,000 passenger car radial tyres/day, translating to approximately 10.5 million tyres/year.

The company’s Banmore plant continues to play a vital role in regional industrial development, supporting direct and indirect employment and contributing to local economic growth.

The facility operates with a strong focus on sustainability, adopting energy-efficient processes and responsible manufacturing practices aligned with JK Tyre’s broader environmental and social commitments.

The company says that over the years, the Banmore plant has also made meaningful contributions to community development in the region, including initiatives in healthcare, adult literacy, livelihood enhancement, rural development, and the promotion of local sports, positively impacting the lives of communities in and around the area.
