Japan-based chemicals manufacturer Zeon Corporation opened its Asia technical support laboratory (ATSL) in Singapore, through its Zeon Asia unit, which would offer technical support for specialized rubber in rapidly growing markets in ASEAN and India.
Located in the Galen – a science park specially designed for chemicals, life sciences and IT companies – the facility is Zeon’s fourth technical support base. The others are located in Japan, Europe and China.
According to Zeon, the lab will support technical developments and tests for automotive products in the region, where internal combustion engines are expected to remain mainstream and car production is set to increase significantly.
The Japanese company’s specialty rubber materials are used in automotive parts, including timing belts, oil resistant hoses, oil seals and gaskets.
