American tyre manufacturer Hoosier Racing Tyre Corp has installed an expanded rubber mixing system at its Plymouth race tyre plant in Indiana. This completes the US$8 million project started last year.
Hoosier representatives and local government officials gathered last week to cut the ribbon on the new system which allows the company to bring its rubber mixing needs in-house, and improve production.
The project, which entailed the expansion of the Plymouth plant by 37,000 sq ft, will triple Hoosier’s mixing capacity and create 16 more jobs.
John Desalle, Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing, said the expansion was the result of teamwork between Government and the business, adding that Hoosier was fortunate to have a dedicated and talented workforce, as well as to operate in a supportive community. (RJA)
