New York-based conveyor belt manufacturer is planning to double the weight of its conveyor belts to make it more useful to a wide range of industries such construction, agriculture, mining, chemical processing, pulp and paper and original equipment manufacturers.
Sales Manager of the Garlock Rubber Technologies, Jeff Philipps said that the company is now capable of producing conveyor belts that weigh 25 tonnes after they have acquired larger cranes. He also added that the belt features 72 inches wide and 1,500 ft. in length.
“Previously our lifting capacity was limited to 15 tonnes, which for longer belts required splicing, a difficult and not particularly desirable process,” he adds. “By keeping our 15-tonne crane in place, we have also been able to reduce set up and loading times in our finishing and shipping areas.” (RJA)
