Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. announced that their Falken brand will be among the official sponsors of Red Bull Flugtag KOBE 2015, on October 31 at the Kobe Port Shiko Pier. The event is the first of its kind to be held in Japan.
Red Bull Flugtag is an event in which competitors build their own unique, unpowered aircraft, which they ride as they attempt to fly from a deck rising 6 meters over a body of water.
While challenging the limits of human-powered flight, competitors are rated on their creativity, performance, and flight distance. Over 100 Red Bull Flugtag events have been held in locations around the world since the first was held in Vienna, Austria in 1992, but this will be the first Flugtag to be held in Japan.
