American chemical company DuPont is set to augment its research and development work in its Hyderabad, India research centre with additional space, and increasing workforce for 450 to 1,000 within a five-year period.
Pascal Fernandez, technology manager for performance polymers for DuPont says that the facility will become a hub for engineering plastics, specialty elastomer and lightweight application for the growing Indian automotive and Southeast Asian markets.
In addition to plastics, the centre handles industrial biosciences, packaging and industrial polymers, titanium technologies and protection technologies.
The Hyderabad research centre is the largest overseas R&D centre of DuPont.
