DUNLOP Aircraft Tyres’ joint venture facility in China, the Dunlop Taikoo (Jinjiang) Aircraft has won a three-year deal to supply the Embraer 145LI fleet of China Eastern Airlines with new and retreaded tyres.
With the contract, the Shanghai-based airline will receive new tyres produced at the Dunlop Aircraft Tyres’ factory in Birmingham, England that will be distributed from and retreaded at the manufacturer’s Jinjiang unit.
Dunlop Aircraft Tyres’ chairman and managing director, Ian Edmondson said their China facility has already secured several airline deals, including those with Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines and Taiwan. “This is our first deal with a significant Chinese airline and it further strengthens our position in the regional aircraft market, where we have a fantastic history of supporting the most popular jet and turboprop airliners, ” he said.
