Liquid silicone rubber (LSR) technology experts from Dow Corning, a leading global supplier of silicones and silicones solutions, and its distribution partner R.D. Abbott Company, Inc. will be showcasing and presenting at the LSR 2017 conference on April 23 through 26 in Anaheim, California in the US.
Attendees at the conference will be able to discuss their challenges in automotive, aviation, medical and general rubber applications with specialists from both companies at their shared booth.
Additionally, both companies will offer technical presentations:
April 24 (Monday) at 9:30AM: Dow Corning Applications Engineer William D. Inman, Jr. will present ‘Understanding Post-Curing in Silicone Elastomers,’ which focuses on efforts by OEMs and fabricators to identify process improvements in manufacturing to reduce or eliminate post-processing steps and still produce efficient and safe cured articles.
This presentation will describe the advantages and disadvantages of post-curing and the circumstances under which the process can be eliminated.
April 24 (Monday) at 11:00AM: R.D. Abbott V.P. of Technology Rick Ziebell will present ‘Fluid-Resistant Fluoro-LSR Technology,’ which examines the well-recognised benefits of liquid silicone rubber technology and its major advancement in processing silicone rubber.
Fluorosilicone technology is yet another achievement in that it provides benefits with its superior resistance to fluids such as fuel, oil and certain solvents. However, blends of silicone and fluorosilicone polymers do not exhibit optimal strength properties. This presentation examines how copolymers can be tailored to provide fluid resistance while maintaining the benefits of LSRs.
