Automotive supplier Cooper Standard has established an Asia Pacific Technology Center and opened its Asia Pacific Sealing Test and Sealing Prototype Centers in Shanghai, China as part of its continued investment in the region and commitment to create a full range of technical and manufacturing capabilities to serve local customers.

Edwards, chairman and CEO. “The opening of our Asia Pacific Sealing Test and Prototype Centers enables Cooper Standard to accelerate the localisation of our latest innovative products to this region.”
The Asia Pacific Sealing Test Center, which is located in Qingpu District, Shanghai, is 1,100 square metres. It is Cooper Standard’s largest, most diverse and capable sealing laboratory in the Asia Pacific region. The centre houses an automotive sealing finish products and materials laboratory, and a functional test laboratory for sealing systems. The laboratory is the first sealing laboratory of its kind to be accredited ISO/IEC17025 in China.
The 1,140-square-metre Asia Pacific Sealing Prototype Center is equipped with a complete production line that can significantly shorten the lead time needed for extrusion process development. Cooper Standard will now be able to carry out a series of advanced product designs and development to support automotive growth of this region. In addition, the centre features a state-of-the-art training center which is dedicated to cultivating local engineering capabilities.
