Finland, Ohio=headquartered Cooper Tire & Rubber Co is recalling over 430,000 light truck tyres in the US on tyre failure risk from sidewall bulges. The recall, which is expected to commence March 25, covers certain Discoverer, Evolution, Courser, Deegan, Adventurer, Hercules, Back Country, Multi-Mile, Wild Country, and Big O tyres in several sizes, reports said.
In documents posted recently by US safety regulators, Cooper stated that the bulges can cause a sidewall separation.
The tyremaker said that there have been no fatalities or injury claims, or property damage, due to the problem. Owners will be notified and dealers will replace the tyres.
Affected tyres are those made between 1 February 2018 and 1 December 2019.
