CONTINENTAL Tire the America (CTA) has recently unveiled the General Altimax RT43 all-season touring tyre at its Uvalde (Texas) Proving Grounds.
According to CTA, the Altimax RT43 offers an “enhanced construction” that was designed for long tread life and “to give passengers a quiet, comfortable ride, combined with year-round, all-season traction.”
It said that the tyre is a result of combining two of its new technologies – the Peak Anti-slip Sipe Design Technology, which increases the number of biting edges for traction on slippery roads, and the Low Surface Abrasion Technology, which provides construction elements that reduce tread distortion as the tyre rolls, resulting in less surface abrasion promoting even treadwear and extended treadlife – with their existing Replacement Tire Monitor and Visual Alignment Indicators technologies.
The Altimax RT43 replaces the original Altimax RT, and will be available in 44 initial sizes over 13- through 18-inch wheel diameters. The tyre will carry UTQG treadwear ratings of 600 for 13- to 15-inch sizes, and 700 for 16- to 18-in sizes.
