Canadian rubber firm and union meet on job action

Members of the Canada-based Progressive Rubber Industries (PRI), a rubber lining and steel fabrication firm,  will be meeting with the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada Local 10-B after the former has been recently served a strike notice.

The union represents 42 employees of PRI, mainly those engaged in the welding,  and lining of tanks valves and pumps with rubber or ceramic.

Issue on wages, RRSPs and benefits and the length of the agreement are yet to be resolved.

Ninety-seven percent of the local membership vote favored the job action when a strike vote was conducted last September. (RJA)
