Industrial rubber, chemical goods and sporting manufacturer Bridgestone plans to discontinue the supply of kart tyres by end-2022: Bridgestone will be fully responsible for the supply of kart tyres until December 31, 2022, when outstanding supply contracts with customers are expected to conclude.
Bridgestone has long been developing, manufacturing and supplying kart tyres accredited by the Japan Automobile Federation for the domestic market; and homologated by an international organisation for overseas markets. Bridgestone’s kart tyreshave been used to support the aspirations of kart racers of all types, from hobby to serious racers pursuing new heights in their sport.
However, after careful examination of the company’s portfolio and resource allocation to reflect the operating environment changes consistent with the group’s mid-long term business strategy, Bridgestone has decided to discontinue supply of kart tyres beyond 2022. Bridgestone will nevertheless continue its passionate participation and support in/for motorsports activities.
