Bridgestone to build first Russian plant

BridgestoneBridgestone Corporation will open its first tyre plant in Russia in the second half of 2016. The plant will be located in Ulyanovsk region and will produce 2 million tyres per year and create 800 jobs.

“Currently, the equipment assembly and pre-commissioning activities are being completed on the site, after that the required paper work must be done. In total 12.5 bln rubles will be invested in the project,” a Bridgestone official said to Russian news agency TASS.

The plant will be built in cooperation with Mitsubishi Corporation.
