Bridgestone Corporation held a foundation stone laying ceremony on April 29 for their future plant site in Thailand.
The new site will produce off-the-road radial (ORRs) tyres for vehicles used in mines, quarries, harbors and construction sites around the world. Previously, Bridgestone would produce these tyres exclusively in Japan and the US. The Thai plant is scheduled to begin production in the first half of 2015, and total production capacity is expected to reach approximately 85 tonnes by the first half of 2019.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the industrial estate and the Bridgestone group.
