Birla Carbon has launched its first Asia Post Treatment (APT) Plant in Patalganga, Maharashtra, India, marking a major step in carbon black technology for high-performance applications in industries like coatings and inks. This advanced facility, designed for optimal flexibility, efficiency, and precision, leverages cutting-edge technology to produce ultra-high-performance carbon black grades tailored to customer needs.

Rajeev Sonthalia, Director of Birla Carbon, noted that this strategic plant supports Asia’s growing market and boosts collaboration and innovation with partners. The APT facility’s precision manufacturing allows Birla Carbon to meet stringent clean product standards, positioning it as a leader in sustainable, high-quality carbon solutions.

CEO John Loudermilk emphasised the plant’s role in meeting global demand, especially in high-growth sectors, while advancing sustainability. The facility, also backing Birla Carbon’s US-based North Bend facility, expands applications across diverse markets, including specialty sectors like packaging inks, automotive coatings, toys, and tool coatings.
