INDIA-based Phillips Carbon Black (PCB) Ltd, a part of the RP – Sanjiv Goenka Group and Belgium-headquartered Azelis Coatings and Rubber & Plastic Additives, have formed a partnership to distribute carbon black.
Carbon black is found in a wide variety of industrial applications including the rubber industry, in plastics applications for films, pipes and fibres, in printing inks and coatings; and conductive carbon blacks are used in cable manufacture.
PCB has currently four facilities in India, and is the world’s sixth largest producer of carbon black, owing to its capacity of 500,000 metric tonnes. Its carbon black brands, Orient and Royale have been recognised in Europe for many years.
Michel Dumusois, International Business Director, Azelis Coatings and Rubber & Plastic Additives, said, “Phillips’ carbon blacks are manufactured to the highest standards and backed by comprehensive application testing and strict quality controls. Coupled with their support gained from over 50 years in the industry, Azelis’s dedicated teams are well placed to provide first class technical and commercial service to customers with this range.”
Both Azelis and PCB have agreed on a phasing in Western Europe for the transfer of activity to Azelis from 1st October, 2013 onwards.
