Synthetic rubber maker Arlanxeo has moved its corporate headquarters from Maastricht to The Hague, Netherlands, in what it says is to forge closer ties with its parent company, Saudi Aramco. Arlanxeo was established in April 2016 as a joint venture of German chemicals firm Lanxess and Saudi Aramco. In 2018, state-owned oil/gas firm Saudi Aramco became the sole owner of Arlanxeo.
At the Hague, it has established the Corporate Centre that consists of the CEO, CFO, General Counsel, CHRO, Global Controller, and Head of Communications who are co-located with Aramco Overseas Company, its parent company.
“The closer proximity to our parent company will help enhance Arlanxeo’s overall visibility and strengthen our ties with the Aramco family,” said CEO Donald Chen.
It is envisaged that all other Arlanxeo Holding employees move to a still-to-be-decided office location in the Sittard-Geleen area in Limburg Province, the Netherlands, close to Maastricht. This local move is not expected to be completed until mid-2021.
Arlanxeo had sales of around EUR3 billion in 2019, about 3,900 employees and a presence at over 20 sites in over 10 countries.
The company’s core business is the development, manufacturing and marketing of rubber for use in, for example, the automotive and tyre industries, the construction industry, and the oil and gas industries.
