Apollo Tyres still wanted to pursue its joint agreement with Cooper Tyres despite their rift.
Cooper previously filed a complaint against the Indian firm for delaying the agreement completion, but the latter denied the charges but instead asked for price reduction in the US$2.5-billion deal, citing problems related to the US firm’s operations in China and concessions to the workers’ union, which eventually rejected by Cooper.
The US court gave ‘partial ruling’ favourable to Apollo Tyres, indicating that the latter has not acted contrary to its joint agreement with Cooper.
