ANSELL launches its new gloves offering in the Touch N Tuff (TNT) product line – the Touch N Tuff 73-500 sterile sensitive polychloroprene gloves and Touch N Tuff 73-300 clean sensitive polychloroprene gloves for the life sciences industry, and the Touch N Tuff 83-300 polyisoprene gloves for workers in aseptic and clean environments.
Both the Touch N Tuff 73-500 and 73-300 gloves are manufactured using the proprietary Sensoprene formulation from Ansell, delivering superior sensitivity in both double donning and dry applications while providing an alternative to traditional latex gloves.
The Touch N Tuff 83-300 provides a non-sterile version of the earlier launched Touch N Tuff 83-500 comfortable latex free polyisoprene glove. Gloves made from the Sensoprene formulation are up to 30% thinner than standard Ansell polychloroprene gloves and are free of both latex proteins and chemical accelerators. Combined with an ergonomic design, the Touch N Tuff sensitive polychloroprene gloves help to reduce the risk of both Type I (latex) and Type IV (chemical) allergies without diminishing the sensitivity and comfort needed for life science applications.
Moreover, the glove’s cream colour functions as a breach indicator during double-gloved applications when paired with other glove colours. Nearly 30% of applications within the global life science market involve the need for double donning in sterile and controlled environments. The enhanced sensitivity and feel of the Sensoprene formulation facilitates the ease of double-gloving, reducing hand fatigue and increasing adherence to safety protocols.
Coupled with the chemical splash resistance from polychloroprene, the Touch N Tuff 73-500 and 73-300 gloves protect users from a broad range of chemicals. For workers in clean environments, the Touch N Tuff powder-free synthetic polyisoprene glove is designed to deliver all the performance characteristics of natural rubber latex without the risk of natural rubber latex sensitisation to the wearer. The glove also brings the Touch N Tuff “second skin” fit delivered through a combination of new state-of-the-art ergonomically designed gloves and ultra-soft and comfortable polyisoprene film.
Anti-slip finish on the surface of the fingers and palm area provides the wearer with enhanced grip characteristics when working in wet item handling applications. “As our efforts to keep up with the increasingly unique demands of our customers continue, our Touch N Tuff brand has raised the bar for personal and product protection,” said Bob Gaither, Ansell Senior Vice President and Regional Director, North America.
“Touch N Tuff 73-500, 73-300 and 83-300 gloves combine the legendary Touch N Tuff glove performance with a superior sensitivity and comfort, serving a wider scope of functions, enhancing performance and adding protection to both the worker and their product, ” he says.
Touch N Tuff single-use gloves deliver superior protection and exceptional performance, says Ansell. The combination of a thin construction and good chemical protection in a single glove allows users to find sensitivity and security where light-duty, chemical-splash protection is required.
