ANSELL Ltd has agreed to purchase the Trelleborg Protective Products (TPP) business from the Trelleborg Group of Sweden. This acquisition is anticipated to be neutral this year and accretive from 2013 onwards. The purchase price was worth USD32 million.
The acquired business has annual sales of about USD25 million with approximately 170 employees. It has a plant in Lithuania and sales offices in Sweden, Norway, Russia, Dubai, Singapore, China and the US. TPP provides high-end chemical protective suits, professional dry diving suits, escape hoods, medical patient care and tents/shelters to first responders, military, aerospace and industrial customers.
According to Ansell, the business suits nicely with their Specialty Markets and Industrial GBU’s as well as its strategy of expanding into selected adjacencies within the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) space. (PRA)
