China’s Longmarch to expand to Egypt

Chinese tyre manufacturer Long March Tire has announced its plan to establish a second overseas production base in Egypt. This major move comes after the successful operation of its first overseas plant in Pakistan, marking another milestone in the company’s international growth strategy. The company has successfully completed government registration and preparatory procedures for the project, it adds.

This new facility in Egypt will primarily produce truck, bus, and passenger car tyres, and is expected to serve Egypt and expand into surrounding regions in the Middle East, Africa, and even parts of Europe. With its strategic geographic position, Egypt offers a unique advantage as a gateway between Asia, Africa, and Europe — making it an ideal hub for Long March’s global expansion.

Long March Tire has already established a strong market share and brand recognition in Egypt, with its products widely praised by local customers. Egypt’s developed manufacturing base, especially in automotive and construction equipment, provides favourable conditions for both OEM and replacement tyre markets. The country is also Africa’s second-largest economy, enhancing its attractiveness as a long-term investment destination.

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Chaoyang, Liaoning, Long March Tire has an annual production capacity of 4.5 million tyres, with yearly sales exceeding RMB4 billion. The company is known for its proprietaryMC all-steel radial tyre production technology, and offers a broad portfolio of over 790 product varieties, including TBR, OTR, and industrial tyres.
