Indian tyre manufacturing company, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. (JK Tyre) has just rolled out its 20 millionth truck and bus radial tyre (TBR) within 4 years of celebrating their 10 million TBR production mark. As pioneers of radial technology – JK Tyre produced the first radial tyre in 1977 – the company is the first in India to achieve this milestone.
JK Tyre’s TBR units are built on advanced technology that helps improve the vehicle’s performance by saving about 8% fuel in comparison with other normal radial tyres. Besides being the first tyre manufacturer to incorporate the next generationof fuel-efficient tyres in production, the company has regularly showcased its innovation and technological advancements in different segments.
Most recently, JK tyre launched India’s first-ever “smart” tyre technology, which consists of tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) that produce vital tyre data such as tyre pressure and temperature. The launch has allowed the tyre manufacturer to get involved in the growing connected mobility space in India.
