Swedish engineered polymers company Trelleborg has, through its Trelleborg Coated Systems business area, signed an agreement and finalised the acquisition of US-based privately owned company Laminating Coating Technologies, Inc. (Lamcotec). Lamcotec develops and manufactures polyurethane-coated and laminated fabrics primarily used in the aerospace industry and in the healthcare & medical industry. The acquisition complements Trelleborg’s offering and strengthens the group’s position in engineered polyurethane-coated fabrics.
The company has its head office and production facility in Monson, Massachusetts, US. Total sales amounted to about SEK185 million in 2017. This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.
“I am very pleased to announce this acquisition, as it complements us and fits in well with our strategy. Polyurethane-coated fabrics have development and expansion potential in several segments, niches and geographies. The company is well-managed, has extensive expertise in its field and has close and valuable customer relationships,” says Dario Porta, President of the Trelleborg Coated Systems business area.
The transaction will be consolidated as of July 1, 2018.
