The US Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), a national trade and advocacy group of US rubber tyre manufacturers, have announced the dates for this year’s National Tire Safety Week.
To be celebrated this year from May 28 to June 3, the National Tire Safety Week is an RMA initiative to rally the US tyre industry in a focused effort to help drivers learn simple yet essential steps to maintain their tyres.
“Technology and sophisticated engineering are the heart and soul of tyres,” said Anne Forristall Luke, RMA president and CEO. “Tyre manufacturers go to great lengths to produce tyres for long-lasting, safety performance. And that commitment to quality extends beyond the factory. Tyre manufacturers want to be a resource to consumers to help them understand the importance of regular maintenance to safety, and how best to take care of their tyres.”
Tyre manufacturers and retailers across the nation work to educate motorists about proper tyre care and maintenance. Participating retail outlets join the nationwide effort to promote tyre care through advertising, promotions, free tyre pressure checks and community and media outreach.
The Be Tire Smart program is funded by RMA’s tyre manufacturer members: Bridgestone Americas, Continental Tire the Americas, LLC, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Kumho Tire USA, Inc., Michelin North America, Inc., Pirelli Tire North America, Sumitomo Rubber North America, Inc., Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc. and Yokohama Tire Corporation.
