About 700,000 small rubber enterprise holders in Malaysia will continuously receive rewards from the Budget 2013 of the Government as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razuk.
Tan Sri Bernard Dompok of the Plantation Industries and Commodities said that his ministry has also received the budget of worth Rm 2.9 billion that the government is allocating for them to help them in the production of their commodity as well as to give incentives to the workers.
He said on Tuesday, at the Smallholders and Commodity Entrepreneurs National Conference held at the Melaka International Trade Center that the allocation will also be used to continue the oil palm and rubber projects of the National Key Economic Area that aims to improve the production and increase the income of the smallholders.
About 1,000 smallholders have attended the conference that lasted for a day.
The Malaysian Palm Oil Board Chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad and Secretary General Datin Paduka Numala Abd Rahim were also spotted in the inaugural conference. (PRA)
