The new Bandag B123 FuelTech trailer retread tyre has been recently launched by Bridgestone Americas Inc. (Bridgestone). The fuel-efficient retread tyre was designed to complement the Bridgestone R123 Ecopia Drive tyre in design and performance, and also to fight irregular wear and enable longer tread life for fleets.
According to Bridgestone, the Bandag B123 FuelTech retread and Bridgestone R123 Ecopia Drive together can reduce energy loss by 4.7% and optimise fuel efficiency – switching to the B123 FuelTech retread can save fleets up to US$165,900 in fuel costs compared with competitors and depending on the price of fuel.
Bridgestone’s Ecopia tyre line features casing technology for lower rolling resistance and extended treadwear, in addition to meeting SmartWay-verification and California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliance. Ecopia tyres used in all positions can apparently save users an estimated US$1,393 annually per truck in comparison with another competitor.
