Foster gets EPDM plant contract in China

 Foster Wheeler’s Global Engineering and Construction Group subsidiary have been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management contract by Germany-based specialty chemicals firm Lanxess for its new EPDM rubber plant to be built at the Changzhou Yangtze Riverside Industrial Park in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Foster Wheeler is currently executing the front-end engineering design (FEED) for this facility. Said to be the largest EPDM facility in the world, it will be designed to produce 160,000 tonnes/year of EPDM rubber. The plant is expected to start up in 2015. Lanxess states that this new plant is its largest investment in China to date.
