CalRecycle offers tyre recyclers low-interest loans

THE California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is offering California scrap tyre recyclers $4 million in low-interest loans to buy new tyre recycling equipment.

The Tire Equipment Loan Program is designed to help California scrap tyre recyclers increase their processing capability and create additional markets for products made from scrap tires, the agency said on its website.

The maximum amount of an individual loan is $2 million or 75% of the expansion project cost, whichever is less, said Terry Leveille, legislative representative for the California Tire Dealers Association.

Dec. 30 is the deadline to send applications to CalRecycle for tire equipment loans.
